Michelle Curry | Lead Manager, The Citizens Campaign Civic Trusts
Michelle Curry is the lead manager and developer of The Citizens Campaign Civic Trusts. She has extensive experience in our programs having been a longtime volunteer member of The Citizens Campaign community serving as a Newark Civic Trustee. She has a wealth of experience working with economically disadvantaged and minority populations, strongly advocating for their rights in the health and housing arenas. Her fervent belief in the positive rewards of community service is also evidenced in her long-term volunteer service as Executive Director of the Althea Gibson Foundation/Community Tennis Association. She has a B.A. from Rutgers University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Ashford University and is presently completing her PhD in Nonprofit Management and Leadership with a thesis on ‘Closing the Civic Engagement Gap.’

Tim Nolan, Ed.D.
Tim Nolan, Ed.D., is the President of the Human Services Leadership Institute and has worked with over 10,000 human service managers and 100 organizations to drive positive leadership approaches, empowering cultures, and employee commitment, engagement, performance, and retention. He is the author of 10 books including The Essential Handbook for Highly Effective Human Service Managers, 2nd Edition, Highly Effective Human Service Organizations, and The Essential Handbook for Highly Effective Human Service Professionals. Tim has also created the 12-month Highly Effective Human Service Managers Program 55 organizations have used to create positive cultures to support exceptional levels of employee commitment, engagement, performance, and retention.
Marion C Bean Moreland
Marion is Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Traumatologist and a facilitator for Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. Marion is originally from California and has lived in Colorado, Japan, Iowa, Arizona and currently resides in West Virginia. Marion graduated from American Military University with a B.S. in Sports and Health Science and from Divine Mercy University with a M.S in Clinical Counseling in their first graduating class. Marion has worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health. She has also deployed to Beirut to work with Syrian refugees, Romania to work with underserved populations, Paradise, California after a wildfire to work with homeowners and first responders, and Puerto Rico after hurricanes. Marion is known for her calm presence in the midst of chaos and has a heart to care for those who are on the front lines of disasters and other critical incidents. Marion believes that every individual is unique and comes to a particular moment in time with the sum of their total life experiences. For some, those experiences bring them to a place of peace and contentment while others languish. Marion finds that in meeting an individual where they are at and journeying with them in the counseling process can lead to healing and peace. She is trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy. Through her work with Green Cross Academy of Traumatology she has presented domestically and international on a variety of topics related to trauma and mental health including Compassion Fatigue, Grief and Loss, Disaster Stress and Field Traumatology, Diagnosis and Treatment of PTSD, Domestic Violence, the H.E.A.R.T. Model, and Treating Phobia and Anxiety with Trauma (EMDR Level 1). Marion is a member of Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, American Mental Health Counseling Association, and West Virginia Counselors Association. She is the co-founder of Appalachian Trauma and Resiliency Center. When she is not counseling or teaching Marion can be found dancing with her husband, Dana, crafting, traveling, spending time with family or curling up with a good book.
Dr. Kathie Erwin
Dr. Erwin is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor who has worked in private practice and developed geriatric group programs over the past 25 years. She is the author of six professional books on gerontology/aging issues and practice development. Her research interests are the multi-generational family, group work with older adults and trauma counseling. Dr. Erwin is a Fulbright Specialist for teaching and research at the University of Iceland. She serves as a Board Member of Florida Mental Health Counselors Association and Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. She has been a team leader with Green Cross in Trinidad, Tobago, India, and Romania. Dr. Erwin is a guest lecturer for NordMag Intensives at University of Iceland and the International Institute of Postgraduate Education in Ukraine.
