Ethics Chair, Dr. Tony Dice - Bio

My name is Dr. Tony Dice and I will be your host as we navigate the potential ethical dilemmas inherent to the field of human services as well as new challenges that our ever-changing landscape may present. I do not claim to be an expert in this area, though I have presented on this topic at the regional, national and international levels. What I do know, is how to live by a code. I have been a Slovak dancer, firefighter, paramedic, Navy SEAL, drug addict, therapist and father of five. Each of these identities required adherence to a specific code of behavior. Currently, I find myself bound to the ethical standards for human service professionals as I work with those suffering from addiction. Over the years and through varying careers, I have noticed that while what is legal and illegal has shifted very little, my personal sense of right and wrong has moved a great deal. The potential incongruence between these two sets of principles has shown me the value of honoring ethical standards specific to one’s field. Enough about me, let’s get down to brass tacks.
